Bani Obeid players promised extraordinary bonus
Published in Daily News Egypt on 09 - 12 - 2010

CAIRO: Bani Obeid players have been promised multiplied bonuses if they beat Zamalek in the Egyptian Cup round of 32 tie on Friday.
The second-tier side visit the Premier League leaders in Cairo hoping to repeat their earth-shattering 1-0 victory two years ago.
“Every player will get a total of LE 55,000 if we win against Zamalek,” Bani Obeid board member and football director Mahmoud Wahba told FilGoal.com.
“Players normally receive LE 2000 each for a win, while a wealthy fan from the village has allocated LE 3000.
“But the businessman who finances the team is willing to give every player LE 50,000 in case of another victory over Zamalek.”
Bani Obeid, currently eighth in Premier League B, are managed by former Zamalek star Tamer Abdul-Hamid, who is aiming to upset his old club.
“I think I've made history as a player for Zamalek and Egypt, now I hope to make a name for myself as a coach,” said the man who won the 2002 Champions League for Zamalek.
“A victory over Zamalek would surely preserve my name in the books of Egyptian football.”
