ENPPI accept new Sunderland bid for Al-Muhammadi
Published in Daily News Egypt on 30 - 06 - 2010

CAIRO: ENPPI and Sunderland have finally reached an agreement over a summer deal that will see Ahmed Al-Muhammadi move to the Stadium of Light, the Petroleum side stated.
"We have worked out the details of the move with Sunderland's officials," ENPPI football director Alaa Abdul-Sadek told FilGoal.com.
"Al-Muhammadi traveled to England late on Tuesday to wrap up the negotiations and undergo a medical.
"We agreed to loan him to Sunderland on a season-long loan contract for £1 million with a view to a permanent deal."
Last month, ENPPI announced that Sunderland had tabled an offer for the Egypt wing-back but the Premiership outfit denied making a bid at the time.
But ENPPI assured that a deal is on the cards this time around, with media reports linking the Egypt ace with an imminent move to the Black Cats.
Sunderland are believed to have made their initial approach to sign Al-Muhammadi last January only to be rebuffed by ENPPI.
Financial Matters
Al-Muhammadi's agent Nader Shawki revealed that both clubs agreed on the transfer fee after prolonged talks.
"They first disagreed over the financial matters and the payment method but eventually overcame their differences," Shawki said to FilGoal.com.
Al-Muhammadi made no secret of his desire to experience European football after attracting a host of suitors over the past few years.
The pacey wide man was a key member of the Egyptian national team, who won an unprecedented third successive African Cup of Nations title in January.
The 22-year-old also took part in the 2009 Confederations Cup.
