KUALA LUMPUR: Britain's royal couple of Prince William and Kate Middleton ended their four-day tour of Malaysia on Sunday, with their next stop the Solomon Islands. The pair left Malaysia after days of touring the country, including Borneo, which sparked an outpouring of viewers attempting to grab a glimpse of the popular couple who were continuing Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Asia. In Sabah, Chief Minister Musa Aman, deputy chief ministers Joseph Pairin Kitingan and Yee Moh Chai, Sabah State Secretary Sukarti Wakiman and other state dignitaries were at the airport to see them off in the morning. Prince William and Kate arrived in Kuala Lumpur last Thursday and arrived in Kota Kinabalu on Friday evening. On Saturday, the royal couple flew via helicopter to Danum Valley, a primary rainforest conservation area located 70 kilometers from Lahad Datu, where they spent about three hours walking through the rainforest. Malaysia is the royal couple's second destination after Singapore on a 9-day tour of the Far East as representatives of the Queen. Throngs of onlookers attempted to get glimpses of the couple who are on a Southeast Asia tour as part of Queen Elizabeth II's ongoing Diamond Jubilee festivities. “I am so excited to see Kate and hear what she has to say," one Malaysian woman told Bikyamasr.com. Others also pried for a chance to see the couple as they begin their tour of Malaysia.
