Dubai (dpa) – Andy Murray handed Novak Djokovic his first loss of the season with a 6-2, 7-5 victory over the world number one to reach the final of the Dubai Championships. The Scot third seed who had lost to the Serb in three of previous four meetings – including an epic Australian Open semi – will face the winner from four-time winner Roger Federer and Argentine Juan Del Potro. Murray charged through the opening set against top seed Djokovic in half an hour, winning the last four games of the set on the trot, then secured the edge in the second with a break for 2-0. But the Scot had to fight out of danger as a 5-2 lead evaporated as Djokovic broke for 4-5 on a Murray backhand to the net. But Murray broke back to seal the win after 82 minutes. Djokivic came to the court an undefeated 1-0 on the season after winning the Australian Open for a second straight year and going through three Dubai matches in straight sets. Djokovic had won the last three editions in Dubai. “It was a good result,” said Murray. “I had a tough loss again him at the Australian Open. It's was a good win, there were tough conditions here. “It will be tough to back up today, but I'll rest and hopefully come back ready to play.” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/u5QtN Tags: Andy Murray, Dubai, Novak Djokovic, Tennis Section: Sport, United Arab Emirates
