CAIRO (dpa) – A 17 year-old pupil has died following a shooting at a high school in the US state of Ohio, media reported Tuesday, bringing the death toll to two. A 16 year-old had died in a local hospital on Monday, hours after a teenager opened fire in the cafeteria of the school in Chardon. Three pupils aged 16-18 were injured, some seriously. The shooter was captured by police and remained in custody, police chief Tim McKenna said Monday in a televised press conference. The incident awakened bad memories of the 1999 Columbine massacre, in which two students killed 13 victims and themselves in the worst shooting at a US high school. That event prompted changes in school security nationwide. Chardon is situated some 50 km from the city of Cleveland.
