CAIRO: A man in Nepal has been arrested pending investigation over reports he had stoned to death his three daughters in the country. According to eKantipur news website, Bhakta Bhahadur Rumba, 35, was arrested by police in connection to the stoning of his 7-, 9-, and 12-year-old daughters. The killings occurred Thursday night in the Makwanpur district of the country, some 100 kilometers south of Kathmandu. Rumba was believed to be mentally ill. Police said the incident occurred while the mother was attending a relative's wedding. This is, according to human rights activists in the country, the first such stoning that they know of in the country. Activists told Bikyamasr.com that they hope the government investigations “will take seriously these accusations and ensure this sort of action will not happen again.” BM ShortURL: http://goo.gl/ekxuo Tags: Daughters, Death, Nepal, Stoning Section: Human Rights, Latest News, South Asia, Women
