CAIRO: Sudanese telecom company Canar announced it had reached an agreement on Tuesday with Dublin-based technology company i-conX. The deal revolved around improving routing technology in Canar's telecommunication infrastructure. Canar, which was established in 2005, was already an i-conX partner and had made several agreements improving quality of service and surveillance of it's vast network. The new deal supplies Canar with an integrated billing and routing optimization solution, based around a single core database architecture. Ahmed Yarouf, CEO of Canar said, “As the Sudanese telecom market is becoming increasingly competitive, the implementation of the i-conX routing optimization solution is considered as an important step for Canar to maintain its leading status. The i-conX solution will support the growth of Canar international traffic with enhanced quality and better management.” Canar is owned by Etisalat Group, a telecommunications company looking to expand in the region.
