The judicial delegation tasked with repatriating the money former Egyptian government officials siphoned abroad will meet with British officials in London Monday to discuss the process of returning the some 40 million British pounds currently frozen by the UK government. It was reported Sunday that London has for the first time explicitly and publicly pledged to return the funds, which belong to ousted President Hosni Mubarak and 39 members of his former regime. The judicial delegation, with representatives from the Justice Ministry, attorney general's office, and the government-formed repatriation committee, left for Britain Sunday to review the latest developments in the lawsuit the Egyptian government had filed for the return of the money. “The delegation is also flying to Cyprus to discuss ways to return funds siphoned there by Mubarak's sons Alaa and Gamal,” said repatriation committee chairman Assem al-Gohary.
