Gunmen attacked a police checkpoint on Sunday, in the Tawil district, 15 km north of the city of Arish in Sinai. They exchanged fire with police for an hour and a half, resultilng the wounding of two people. Eyewitnesses said the attackers intercepted by the police , who believed them to have stolen cars, while a security source said they were Islamist groups. Arish has been the scene of a recent security crackdown by police and military troops. In related news, a security source said on Monday that 15 suspects in the attack on the Arish police station have been identified.
