Presidential hopeful Amr Moussa has reiterated his call for postponing parliamentary elections until after presidential elections. During his meeting with Gezira Club members on Tuesday evening, Moussa said that Egypt's political arena had not yet been prepared, and that there was not enough time before elections for nascent parties to draft platforms and convince citizens to join them. “We all feel that we're passing through a confusing period, and this may be the nature of the post-revolution period,” said Moussa. “The Arab Spring, and in particular the Egyptian [uprising], brings with it a lot of obstacles and storms, but on the whole, it leads to a sense of satisfaction.” According to Moussa, some Egyptians are confused regarding elections, the constitution, and which should precede the other. He said that "opinions are divided". "I believe we should elect a president first; then the president should call for elections to form a constitutional committee from all sectors of society without any interference from the president,” said Moussa Moussa said that democracy, development, and reform must be achieved. He went on to say, "We're in a situation where we need to move quickly towards development to achieve stability in Egypt."
