Run-offs update: Clashes witnessed across Egypt

The parliamentary election run-offs on Sunday witnessed clashes in which knives and guns were used between a number of candidates' supporters.
In Qena, the secretary of the ruling National Democratic Party (NDP) women's committee was shot at by unknown persons. In Daqahlia people broke into polling stations and destroyed ballots, claiming the elections were rigged in favor of NDP candidates Noshi al-Basandily and Magdi Arafa.
In Sharqiya, Abdallah Nasr Eddin, a representative of independent candidate Sami al-Alfy, said supporters of his rival Mohamed Ali Youssef had threatened to kill him.
In Luxor, conflict erupted between supporters of Tagammu Party candidate Diaa Rashwan and those of NDP candidate Bahgat al-Sunn in the Armant constituency, while supporters of NDP candidates Abbas Hozayen and Faisal Abdel Rahman Rageh in the Esna constituency came up against those of NDP candidate Wael Zakaria al-Amir and independent candidate Taher al-Bantity.
In North Sinai, four people were injured in clashes that arose between supporters of independent candidate Suleiman al-Zamalout and those of NDP candidates Ramadan Sarhan and Suleiman al-Roqaey.
In Beheira, two polling stations were closed when supporters of NDP candidate Mabrouk Zoeir confronted those of NDP candidate Ibrahim Nawar.
In Monufiya, trouble flared up between supporters of NDP candidate Ahmed Seif Eddin and those of independent candidate Samer al-Talawy.
In Qena, tribal clashes erupted between supporters of Mahmoud al-Sayeh and those of Gamal al-Naggar, in which police arrested ten people for possession of knives and sticks
In Fayoum, polling stations were closed for an hour when discord erupted between supporters of NDP candidates Ahmed Abu Taleb and Thabet al-Gammal.
In Kafr el-Sheikh, it was reported that candidates paid voters LE 100 each to vote for them.
