Security forces arrested yesterday at dawn 25 members of the Muslim Brotherhood group in the governorates of Sharkia and Kafr el-Sheikh after storming their houses. The lawyer of the Muslim Brotherhood, Abdel Moniem Abdel maksoud, told Al Masry Al Youm that the security forces arrested 17 members of the group while they were sleeping and arrested another person from the street, also at dawn, because he was not at home. A friend with this man was also arrested, the lawyer said. He added that there detainees have not been taken before the prosecution and he expected them to be charged with being members of a banned group, possessing leaflets or helping the Palestinian Brothers in the Gaza strip, the latter being a charge that security forces level at MB members, as he put it. Al Masry Al Youm has also learnt that four other houses were raided but the wanted men–Mahmud Ghanem, Ayman Hegazy, Abdulla Hendawi and Khaled Gamil– were not there.
