President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi met on Sunday with the President of World Bank (WB), Jim Yong Kim, during his visit to Washington, Youm Sabea News reported. The meeting addressed the Egyptian government's efforts to reform the economy and the co-operation between Egypt and the WB in several development projects implemented in Egypt. The meeting also tackled Egypt's chances to receive 9bln $ in funds in the fiscal year 2017-2018. Egypt has received the second tranche of the WBs fund, 1bln $ out of 3bln $, this March, to support the social and economic program of the Egyptian government. "World Bank values efforts of Egyptian government to achieve sustainable development in different fields," Executive Director of World Bank, Merza Hasan commented Sunday. On the sideline of his visit to Washington, Sisi will meet with major industrial figures including Jeff Immelt, CEO of General Electric, and Marillyn A. Hewson, CEO of Lockheed Martin Corporation. On Monday, Sisi will meet with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House to discuss the bilateral relations between both countries.
