I can't ignore the storming of the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate headquarters that is considered a flagrant violation of the sanctity of this prestigious edifice, the first of its type in its long history. And if you really aspire for the truth, an immediate and decisive probe into the incident must be conducted and those who committed the crime must be under investigation. I am really surprised towards the move that widens rifts among the sons of the nation at a time when the country needs to be unified to confront internal and external plots. I call on the institution of presidency to intervene to resolve the crisis that harms the image of the nation both inside and outside and to put for trial those in charge of this violation that falls in favor of the enemies of the homeland. I call upon the Egyptian journalists to whom I feel honored to belong, members and head of the syndicate to be "cautious" and try to deal with the matter in a way that benefits the issue of free speech and averts the country confrontations that bring losses for all sides. As a parliamentarian, I submitted Sunday night an urgent parliamentary statement to the parliament speaker's office on the incident. I hope the Egyptian journalists and those who love Egypt from within the security institutions will be wise when dealing with the matter in such a hard time in order to thwart schemes of the conspirators against our beloved country.
