An Afghan military helicopter crashed in a southern province early Thursday, killing five soldiers, an official said. Gul Islam Seyal, spokesman for Zabul provincial government, said the crash was caused by technical difficulties as the helicopter was ferrying supplies. He said five soldiers aboard were killed. The Ministry of Defense confirmed the accident in a statement Thursday, saying details on casualties would be released later.
