Egypt's Endowment Ministry referred Tuesday approximately 100 preachers, Imams and mosques' workers to investigation over technical violations during an inspection campaign held in Giza, Al-Bawaba News reported. Administrative boards of some Egyptian mosques have been changed recently, aiming at developing the administration systems to suit the mosque's conditions, Endowment Ministry said. The ministry regularly examines mosques and their libraries to collect books that incite militancy or violence in a move to manage preaching in the country's mosques. Egypt issued a decree in 2014 banning unauthorized preachers from delivering sermons or teaching Islam at mosques and public places in an effort to curb radical Islamist influence and politicized sermons. However, some licensed preachers have also been suspended for delivering sermons that the ministry did not approve.
