Egyptian journalist and columnist Abdel Rehim Ali denied Thursday media reports that pressures were exercised not to broadcast an interview he made with former presidential candidate, Ahmed Shafiq, Al Bawaba News reported. The interview was recorded earlier this week in Abu Dhabi, where Shafiq currently lives because his name is still on Egyptian airports watch lists. Al Assema TV channel's administration, however, announced that the interview would be aired later. "Mr. Shafik is a patriotic figure. He positively talked about the Egyptian Armed Forces and President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi," the well-known host told Al Bawaba, indicating that his interviewee considered any attack on President Al Sisi a red line. Ali, the editor-in-chief of Al Bawaba News, resumed in May hosting his famous TV show "The Black Box" (or Flight Recorder) on Al Assema, as he continued to reveal exclusively high confidential documents regarding Muslim Brotherhood and other major public figures.
