An explosion occurred Wednesday in Al Rifa'i district, south Sheikh Zuweid city in North Sinai damaging a school and a clinic but no casualties were reported, according to Youm7. Local sources, speaking under condition of anonymity, said unidentified militants had planted explosives on a road near the school, targeting military armored vehicles that usually pass by this route. There was no immediate claim for the attack which came a day after Wilayat Sinai militants, previously known as Ansar Bait Al Maqdis, shelled a mosque in Sheikh Zuweid, leveling it to the ground. Militants have launched repeated and deadly attacks in Sinai since former president Mohamed Morsi's ouster in June 30, 2013. Scores of policemen and army personnel were killed and injured by the Sinai-based terrorist groups.
