Bomb disposal experts defused Saturday an improvised explosive device (IED) in Damietta, northern Egypt, Al-Bawaba News reported. No casualties have been reported. The bomb, planted near an electric convertor, was defused by water cannons, security sources said. Another four IEDs were defused earlier on Saturday in Sheikh Zuwaid, North Sinai, according to police reports. Since the ouster of MB rule July 2013, bombings against police personnel, civilians and vital institutions, mostly in the restive Sinai Peninsula, have been repeatedly carried out. IS-affiliated Wilayat Sinai terrorist group has repeatedly claimed responsibilities for the attacks.
