Operations command center in Anbar province announced Monday that security forces killed 52 Islamic State (IS) militants, including foreign and Arab fighters north of Ramadi. The commander of the Anbar operations, Maj. Gen. Qassim Mohamedi said the militants were killed while they were planning for terrorist attacks, in Albu Diab, north of Ramadi. Local sources from Al Anbar told the Middle East News Agency (MENA) that terrorist Mohamed Yunus Jabbar who is believed to be the mastermind behind the massacre of unarmed Iraqi soldiers in the city of Al Saqlawiyah August 2014, was killed in the military operation. Meanwhile, Iraqi intelligence arrested 31 militants of Wilayat Baghdad terrorist group, the IS' branch in Al Rusafa and Al Karkh, Baghdad. Iraqi authorities revealed that the detainees confessed their crimes in Baghdad during 2014 and the beginning of 2015, after security forces found large quantities of weapons, explosive packages, vehicles and motorcycles rigged with explosives in their possession.
