The Egyptian film Microphone – production of 2010 – will be screened at the Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo. Microphone tells the story of Khaled who returns to Alexandria after years of absence and discovers the underground art scene in the magical city; hip hip singers, rock musicians, skateboarders cruising the city and graffiti painters. The film casts; Khaled Abul Naga, Menna Shalabi, Youssra Al-Louzi, Ahmed Magdi and Hany Adel, directed by Ahmed Abdallah. The film received various awards such as best Arabic film at the Cairo International Film Festival, best editor award at the Dubai International Film Festival and that Tanit d'Or award at Carthage Film Festival. The film will be screened with the presence of its director Ahmed Abdallah, 3 February, 7pm with English subtitles.
