Egypt's new Prime Minister Essam Sharaf cut his newly appointed cabinet's first meeting to hold an emergency meeting with the Supreme Council of Armed Forces about the escalating sectarian violence in Egypt has seen in the last week. Sharaf left the cabinet meeting and headed to the headquarters of the armed forces in the ministry of defense with 11 ministers in tow. Sharaf discussed the burning of a church in the village of Soul in Helwan last week, which led to massive demonstrations by Copts, culminating in clashes yesterday evening which left 13 dead and 110 injured.
