Case demanding that Google be banned in Egypt postponed
A case filed by two NGOs demanding Google be blocked in Egypt for retaining anti-Islam film is adjourned to 12 January

Egypt's Administrative Court postponed Saturday to 12 January a lawsuit demanding Google be blocked in Egypt for keeping the controversial anti-Islam film "Innocence of Islam" available via YouTube, which Google owns.
The lawsuit was filed by two NGOs, the Egyptian Association for Legal Development and the Ufuk Association for Development, accusing Google of violating an agreement through risking the safety of the public by sharing the "offensive film."
The two NGOs are demanding that the film be removed from YouTube, in addition to Google to apologising to the Muslim world and paying compensation worth LE2 billion for the damage the film has caused.
Following the circulation of the US-made film that ridiculed the figure of the Prophet Mohammed, Egyptian lawyer Mohamed Salem filed a lawsuit to block YouTube in Egypt until all anti-Islamic content is removed from the video-sharing website.
Muslim Brotherhood member Hassan El-Brins has also called for a one-month boycott of Google to protest the latter's refusal to remove the film from YouTube.
