High-ranking FIFA and Brazilian officials in London for the Olympics discussed Brazil's preparations for the 2014 World Cup, and football's governing body praised the work being done so far by the host. FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke said Friday that "while the world's spotlight is on the Olympic Games, preparations in Brazil continue at full steam" to get the country ready. President Sepp Blatter meet with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff in London on Thursday and said he "congratulated her on the work being done in Brazil." Blatter said "there is still a lot to do but we are on the good track, and there are currently no stadiums in the red. We have expressed mutual confidence and we are certain that we will be able to deliver" a great event.
