Egyptian teenager Amr Mohamed, 18 years old, was named on Thursday the winner of the worldwide science competition [YouTube Space Lab], which aimed at designing a science experiment that can be performed inspace. Mohamed came up with an experiment about the ability of spiders to learn new tricks and the effects of microgravity on the way the zebra spider catches its quarry as well as whether it could adapt its behavior to the new environment. Mohamed was awarded the honor at a ceremony in Washingtonattended by members of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
