Zamalek's Mido fit for Africa Sports clash Zamalek striker Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido' declared fit to play against Africa Sports in the CAF Champions League after recovering from injury
Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef revealed on Sunday that towering striker Mido would play in Zamalek's Champions League encounter against Africa Sports on 25 March after shrugging off a groin injury. The Cairo giants will host the Ivoirians at Military Academy Stadium behind closed doors in the first leg of the competition's round of 32. ‘'The team's doctor confirmed on Sunday that Mido could join the team's training after four days. Consequently, the player will be fit to play against Africa Sports,'' Youssef told Ahram Online on Sunday. The 29-year-old striker scored the winner in Zamalek's 1-0 home win over Tanzania's Young Africans in the preliminary round but was substituted during the interval after picking up a groin injury. According to the team's doctor, fellow striker Amr Zaki will be also fit for the African game. Zamalek will begin on Friday a training camp in Alexandria after they failed to hold it in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
