Trabelsi: Niger match more important than Morocco Tunisia coach Sami Trabelsi says Friday's game against Niger is much more important for his team's African Cup of Nations hopes than the opening Group C win over Morocco
Trabelsi said on Thursday “everything rests on this game” with the group underdog at Stade de l'Amitie. Tunisia surprised Morocco 2-1 in Libreville on Monday to join co-host Gabon at the top of the standings, but warned his team against the danger of getting too far ahead of itself. Trabelsi said his first act after the victory was “to calm everybody down” and tell them they had “won a battle, but not the war.” Niger hopes to recover from the double blow of being outplayed by Gabon and losing teenage midfielder Amadou Moutari to a broken leg in its first game.
