Mohamed Salah continued his hot scoring run when he netted a double against former club Fiorentina to haunt them again and help AS Roma to an impressive 4-1 home win in the Italian Serie A on Friday. The in-form Egyptian forward also created a goal for Italy's Stephan El Shaarawy, whose father is Egyptian, to heap more misery on the Florence side. Salah was also on target when Roma defeated Fiorentina 2-1 last October at the Artemio Franchi, where he was given a hostile reception by the home fans, who were angry that he opted against staying with their team last summer. The 23-year-old was a Fiorentina darling in the second half of last season, having scored nine goals in all competitions following his January arrival on a short-term loan deal from English Premier League side Chelsea. He took his tally to 11 Serie A goals in 24 appearances with Roma so far this term following his Friday double salvo, which prompted both the home and away fans to give him a standing ovation when he was replaced with four minutes remaining, making way for Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko. Roma are now third in the Serie A table with 56 points in the last Champions League qualification spot, three ahead of Fiorentina and five behind leaders Juventus who face Atalanta on Sunday. Salah show Roma opened the scoring on 22 minutes when Salah ran onto a superb threaded pass from Miralem Pjanic on the right hand side of the penalty area before sending a low cross to El Shaarawy for an easy tap-in. Four minutes later, he exchanged passes with Diego Perotti on the edge of the area and fired a shot that deflected off a Fiorentina player and looped over Ciprian Tatarusanu and into the net. Perotti made it 3-0 before Fiorentina pulled one back via a penalty from Josip Ilicic on the stroke of halftime but Salah killed off any hopes they had of a comeback when he added the fourth in the 58th minute. He broke clear following a superb long ball from Pjanic and drilled a shot between the legs of the keeper with aplomb.
