Revolution's unidentified martyrs laid to rest

Burial in Cairo cemetary of 19 young people killed during the uprising organised by revolutionary youth coalition

Egyptian revolutionary youth held a funeral service for 19 unidentified martyrs of the January 25 revolution today. The service took place at the Sayeda Zeinab Mosque after the afternoon prayer.
The martyrs were aged between 20 and 25 and have not yet been identified. Most of them died from bullet wounds to the head, face, eyes and chest.
Tarek Zeidan, the general coordinator of the Free Egypt's Revolution Coalition, said that the revolutionary youth have been receiving the bodies of the deceased from the morgue in the Zeinhom suburb since the morning. They held a collective funeral for all the decased in the Sayeda Zeinab mosque.
Prime Minister Essam Sharaf had approved earlier the procedures for burial in the Cairo governorate's Imam El Shafie cemetery. He requested from the Prosecutor-General Abdel-Meguid Mahmoud to take the legal procedures necessary to issue the death certificates and burial licences.
Zeidan said that Egypt's revolutionary youth are the best qualified to organise the burial of the martyrs of the revolution.
Recently, Islamic preacher Khaled El-Guindy had offered through his show on the Azhari channel to pay for the burial of the martyrs, which led Zeidan to call him a “hypocrite.” Zeidan said that El-Guindy's behaviour during the revolution was shameful as he accused the youth who triggered this revolution of having foreign agendas and had called ousted president Hosni Mubarak a “leader.”
