Mubarak trial adjourned to Sunday
In court Saturday, former interior minister Habib El-Adly blamed the January 2011 on the United States, presenting himself and co-defendants as patriotic and maligned

Cairo Criminal Court adjourned to Sunday the case against ousted president Hosni Mubarak, his two sons, and former interior minister Habib El-Adly and his six aides.
In the Saturday court session, El-Adly gave a speech claiming the United States was behind the 2011 revolution against Mubarak as part of its “new Middle East plan.” He also described himself and those prosecuted alongside him as “national figures who have performed their duty to the fullest."
The court will listen to eyewitness testimonies in the coming sessions.
Mubarak, El-Adly and aides are being retried on charges of complicity in the killing of around 850 unarmed protesters during the 2011 uprising that ended Mubarak's 30-year rule.
Mubarak and El-Adly were found guilty of conspiring to kill protesters in a June 2012 verdict and sentenced to life in prison. But the conviction was overturned in January 2013 due to procedural failings. A retrial began in April 2013.
