MANSOURA, Egypt: An electoral march by the Freedom and Justice Party in the Mansoura constituency was attacked with gunfire by a supporter of the former National Democratic Party. FJP worker candidate Tareq Qotb and FJP professional candidate Yusri Hani organized the electoral march, starting from Badawy village, heading to Baramoun village. They were surprised by the large number of armed men preventing them from entering the village. They discovered the armed men were supporters of one of the remnants of the former NDP. Tareq Qotb said he left the march and headed to the Mansoura police station to file a report against the remnant candidate and his supporters. Qotb added that his supporters were attacked by the remnant's supporters. A number of FJP supporters went to the headquarters of the Dakahlia cabinet to inform the military ruler of what they had been exposed to.
