CAIRO: On behalf of the Egyptian minister of finance, Egypt's Central Bank will sell 5.5 billion EGP (U.S. $930 million) worth of treasury bills today, November 17. The Central Bank is selling 2 billion EGP in 182-day treasury bonds, and 3.5 billion EGP in 357-day bills, sources confirmed to Youm7. The Egyptian deficit stands at 134 billion EGP (U.S. $22.7 billion) for the current fiscal year. The deficit is funded by the Central Bank through treasury sales and bonds on behalf of the Ministry of Finance. The total value of treasury bills and funds reaches 14 billion EGP (U.S. $2.4 billion). They are provided by Arab aid and international loans.
