CAIRO: Tens of lawyers organized a demonstration today condemning the judicial authority law and chanting against Egypt's judges. Mokhtar Nouh and Mahmoud Diab, chairman of the Cairo Bar Association, attended the demonstration. The demonstrators accused the judges of conspiracy against lawyers and their syndicates. They said the judiciary committee supervising the syndicate wants to include the law of judiciary authority because the elections were delayed for unknown time. Thousands of lawyers in Sharqiya Governorate, some courts in Kafr el-Sheikh, and Badrashien Court in Giza continue their strike from work, refusing the law of the judiciary authority. Lawyers consider this law a waste of their immunity, which is provided by the attorneys' law. They said this may allow judges to jail anyone inside the hearing if he violated the system, without determining any regulations. Lawyers threatened to escalate the next steps starting from tomorrow, going on a general strike and not attending hearings. This comes after a call by the former head of the Bar Association, Sameh Ashour, last week.
