KUWAIT: Egypt's tourism will heal, said Egyptian Minister of Tourism Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour. Abdel Nour welcomed supporting tourism in new regions such as the south of the Red Sea, Sohag and Minya. Abdel Nour said many countries have lifted traveling bans to Egypt which were imposed during the January 25 Revolution. He said this indicates that Egypt has restored security and is ready to receive tourists. He added tourist activity is returning to its normal rates. Abdel Nour expects tourism rates to reach their normal average by the beginning of the tourist season in September and October. “The ministry of tourism facilitates investment in new areas such as Sohag, Minya and the Western Desert,” said Abdel Nour. “Such investments require bold investors,” he added. “Many tourist protocols have been signed with European countries such as Italy and Poland,” said Abdel Nour. “We aim to attract other Asian countries such as China, India and Vietnam; South America countries such as Brazil and Argentina; and Eastern European countries such as Hungary and Czechoslovakia.” He added, “We aim to support Egyptian products, tourism activities and religious tourism. Egypt is full of various tourist places which attract tourists all over the world.” Abdel Nour will visit Kuwait tonight with a delegation of media, journalists, artists, intellectuals and poets to meet Kuwaiti officials, according to Kuwaiti newspapers. The newspapers reported that Abdel Nour will discuss mutual issues between Egypt and Kuwait during the visit. He will meet the Kuwaiti Minister of Trade, Amany Borsili, to discuss supporting tourism between Egypt and Kuwait. Abdel Nour will also deliver a massage from the head of Egypt's ruling military council, Field Marshall Hussein Tantawi, to the Kuwaiti Prince saying Tantawi values the exerted efforts to enforce cooperation between the two countries.
