Fiorentina will have striker Alberto Gilardino available for their next Champions League tie with Debrecen after UEFA decided to cut his two-match ban to one. Gilardino was suspended for two games after his red card in the opening game against Lyon, missing the 2-0 home victory over Liverpool. Fiorentina subsequently appealed the decision and now the Italy striker should play against the Hungarian champions on October 20th. "Alberto Gilardino's European suspension has been reduced to one match, and so he will be back to play in the Champions League on October 20 against Debrecen," a club statement read. "Fiorentina had asked for a total reduction. Gilardino has already served his one-game ban against Liverpool."
