JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia, April 16, 2018 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised the performance of the troops participating in the Joint Gulf Shield 1 Drills in the Eastern Province of the Saudi kingdom. Attending the final stage of the Saudi-led drills here on Monday, the Egyptian president said such joint manoeuvres and drills help promote military and security cooperation and coordination among the participating forces which guarantees their readiness to confront various challenges and perils in the region. The final stage of the one-month drills, held under the auspices of King Salman Bin Abdel Aziz, included a number of military shows and manoeuvres by the various forces. The drills included live ammunition with the aim of raising the military readiness of the participating countries, enhancing joint procedures of security and military bodies and boosting coordination, cooperation and military and security integration, Presidency Spokesman Bassam Radi said. The final stage was attended by a number of leaders of the 25 participating countries including Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
