TOKYO, April 11, 2018 (MENA) - Egyptian Ambassador to Japan Ayman Kamel met chairman of Egyptian Judo Federation Motie Fakhr el Din and Captain Mohamed Rashwan, the supervisor of all judo national teams. The officials are visiting Tokyo as part of a twin agreement with Cairo governorate. They will hold a series of meetings with several judo officials in Tokyo, according to a statement by the Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo. Rashwan is widely respected in Japan for his hounorable stance during the 1984 Olympics. He lost the finals to Japan's Yasuhiro Yamashita, who tore a right calf muscle in the preliminaries. Rashwan stated that he did not aim for Yamashita's right leg because he did not regard that as a fair play, and was subsequently given an award from the International Fairplay Committee.
