The remaining Egyptian soldiers that have been held in Sudan have arrived safely at Egypt's embassy in the capital Khartoum.
In a Thursday statement, the Egyptian Armed Forces spokesperson said that this was done in cooperation with all security agencies in Egypt and Sudan to ensure the return of the Egyptian troops that were participating in joint training with the Sudanese army.
On Wednesday night, Egypt has given Mohamed Hamdan Dagolo, better known as Hemedti, the leader of Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) a 72-hour ultimatum to return Egyptian troops held in Sudan, DNE reported.
The army spokesperson indicated that on Wednesday, three Egyptian transport evacuated the first batch of Egyptian troops, through three successive flights to an Egyptian military base in Cairo.
"On this morning of Thursday 20 April and in coordination with concerned Sudanese parties and friendly and brotherly countries as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross, the secure arrival of all remaining Egyptian to the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt was accomplished in preparation for evacuating them from Sudan upon stabilisation of the situation and availability of adequate security conditions back to the homeland."
The statement concluded that the "Egyptian Armed Forces confirms that all Egyptian troops who returned to the homeland or those who are at the Egyptian embassy in Khartoum are well and in good health."
Clashes between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) erupted on April 15 and have spread in many parts of Sudan's capital city Khartoum and other areas outside the capital.
At least 270 people have been killed and over 2,600 injured as the fighting rages for its fifth day, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) which cited Sudan's Ministry of Health Emergency Operations Center.
