A Palestinian was killed on Monday by Israeli soldiers during clashes at Dheisheh refugee camp south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, said the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The ministry said in a short statement that Ommar Mannaa, 22, was killed by Israeli soldiers after being shot in the chest during clashes at the refugee camp.
Local sources and eyewitnesses said that fierce clashes broke out between dozens of Palestinians and Israeli soldiers after an Israeli army force stormed the refugee camp to arrest Palestinian activists.
The Israeli authorities didn't comment on the incident.
The Israeli security forces arrested on Monday 14 Palestinian activists after storming their homes in several areas in the West Bank, said Palestinian security sources.
Since March, the Israeli army has been carrying out daily storming of Palestinian towns, villages, and refugee camps in the West Bank to arrest Palestinians allegedly involved in attacks against Israeli settlers and soldiers.
Official Palestinian figures said that since January, more than 200 Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers in the Palestinian territories, including 50 in the Gaza Strip. Meanwhile, more than 25 Israelis were killed in a series of attacks by Palestinians, according to Israeli media outlets.
