Published in Daily News Egypt on 05 - 12 - 2022

Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (_VOIS) – a subsidiary of Vodafone International Group – concluded a five years cooperation agreement with the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA), in the presence of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Prime Minister, Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Eng. Mohamed Sami, Head of Global VOIS Technology. The agreement aspires to reinforce the company's expansion in the Egyptian market and grant more job opportunities for young people through joint incentive programs. The agreement was signed by Ramy Kato, Head of VOIS Egypt, and Eng. Amr Mahfouz, former CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).
The agreement encourages various companies to expand in the Egyptian market and provides them with attractive incentives within the framework of ITIDA's keenness to support and strengthen outsourcing companies. This comes in line with (_VOIS) direction to expand its activity in various governorates to attract talented youth and provide them with great job opportunities.
Ramy Kato, Head of VOIS Egypt, commented on this agreement saying: "the Egyptian youth carry extreme competence and possess highly competitive capabilities. These distinguished human resources can be developed at all levels. The availability of a positive legal and investment environment promotes the development and improvement of the industry in a manner that helps attract more investments and contributes to facilitating expanding companies operating in the Egyptian market."
Kato added that this agreement comes within the framework of the continuous directives of the political leadership to develop a qualified human element able to work immediately after graduation. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology attaches special importance to various programs and initiatives consummated through it or following authorities invested in developing and preparing the human element necessary for this industry, such as the Information Technology Industry Development Authority and other authorities affiliated with the Ministry. He stressed the implementation of the company's strategy to grant job opportunities for qualified youth and provide distinguished positions for talents seeking a powerful career future.
"We are thrilled to endorse the agreement with (_VOIS) in order to achieve Egypt's 2022-2026 digital strategy objectives for the outsourcing industry. The strategy was launched last February to double digital exports and create extensive exporting services job opportunities, in parallel with building Egypt's high-value services capabilities," said Eng. Amr Mahfouz, the former CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA). "the Authority is working to bridge the skills gap in light of the current global challenges, and even benefit from these challenges, measuring the growing global skill demand and providing a package of incentives that is more effective and capable of attracting investors. All with the purpose of Egypt becoming a strong competitor in the areas of international call center services, information technology service centers, joint services, research and development centers, integrated programs, and electronic design."
It is worth noting that (_VOIS) was launched from Egypt as a strategic arm of Vodafone Group Plc in 2006. It changed the concept of systems and information technology through its remarkable success in the field of intelligent solutions. (_VOIS) developed into a global multifunctional organization and a creativity center for smart solutions focusing on adding value and delivering business results for Vodafone. (_VOIS) expanded to 6 locations: Albania, Egypt, Hungary, India, Romania, and the United Kingdom, with more than 26,000 highly skilled individuals dedicating their efforts to be the partner of choice for Vodafone Group in the fields of talent, technology, and digital transformation.
