Published in Daily News Egypt on 19 - 04 - 2021

Egypt's Minister of Military Production Mohamed Ahmed Morsi and India's Ambassador to Cairo Ajit Gupte have discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields of industrialisation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the development of existing cooperation issues. These include: cooperation between Hulwan Company for Diesel Engines (Factory 909) and the Ashok Leyland in the field of diesel engines; and cooperation between the Heliopolis Company for Chemical Industries (Factory 81) and SURACSH company, which specialises in filters and protective gas suits.
Morsi reiterated that the Ministry of Military Production is looking for partnerships to transfer and localise modern technologies and deepen local manufacturing. This is in addition to exchanging expertise and technical information with Indian companies in various fields, which highlights Egypt's confidence in India's advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Furthermore, during the meeting, an invitation was extended to Indian companies to participate in the EDEX 2021 exhibition, which will be held in Egypt in November 2021.
For his part, India's Ambassador in Cairo Ajit Gupte highlighted the mutual understanding between the two countries on the need to advance bilateral relations in industry and economics.
The Ambassador added that there are important opportunities to enhance trade cooperation between Egypt and India, especially as the two countries have promising economic potential, and distinct geographical locations.
He further expressed the aspiration of a number of Indian companies to open new horizons for cooperation with military production companies in Egypt, in the context of the development they are witnessing at various levels.
