The British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) is hosting on Sunday a panel discussion called ‘New horizons in Egypt's health care sector', in line with the government's efforts to develop the health sector in Egypt, and to provide health care to those most in need.
The meeting will be held in the presence of Minister of Finance, Mohamed Moeit; former Deputy Prime Minister and former Minister of International Cooperation, Ziad Bahaa El Din; CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Mohsen Adel; Chairperson of the Egyptian Exchange, Mohamed Farid; and Chairperson of BEBA, Khaled Nosseir; and a number of senior officials in the health sector.
Noteworthy, President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi launched the “A Decent Life" initiative to provide a good standard of living for the most needy categories of Egyptian society in 2019.
For his part, Nosseir said that this meeting is a great opportunity to offer more ways of cooperation between the British and Egyptian sides in the field of health care and medical insurance, affirming the importance of enhancing joint investment cooperation in the health sector.
"Egypt has achieved strong GDP growth rates over the past few years, which requires us to work together to develop the infrastructure of the health sector in Egypt," he added, noting that President Al-Sisi directed them to exert efforts to develop the health care system and improve the services provided to citizens, in preparation for the launch of the national comprehensive health insurance project.
Meanwhile, Nosseir asserted the importance of considering the evaluation and reviewal of the measures taken to ensure the efficiency of the new health care system.
The BEBA is a non-governmental, non-profit organisation, serving the interests of the British-Egyptian business community. The BEBA was established in 1996 with 100 members.
The BEBA offers a wide range of services to its members, such as opening channels of communication between British and Egyptian businesses, organising trade missions between the two countries, showcasing current key business issues through workshops, seminars, and lobbying for change at a governmental level on behalf of BEBA's members. BEBA also provides access to senior UK and Egyptian government officials.
