Egypt strongly condemned the terror attack on the French embassy, French cultural centre, and army headquarters in Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso, according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.
The attack resulted in the killing of about 35 people and wounding another 90.
The statement asserted that Egypt stands with the government and people of Burkina Faso and France in the fight against terrorism, sending the Egyptian government and nation's condolences to victims' relatives and wishing speedy recoveries for those who were wounded in the attack.
Egypt also stressed its support for the efforts exerted by France and the Sahel-Saharan states in countering terrorist acts that target the security and stability of the entire world.
On Thursday, Egypt also sent its condolences to the government and people of Bangladesh for the death of four citizens from that country who were serving as UN peacekeeping forces in Mali. The four Bangladeshi peacekeepers were killed by an improvised explosive device, while another eight were wounded.
Egypt said it stands with the government and people of Bangladesh and appreciates UN efforts to maintain peace and security in Mali as part of efforts to confront terrorism, according to another statement from Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
