263 ships transit the Suez Canal carrying 15.94m tonnes in 6 days

Suez Canal traffic data revealed that 263 ships transited the canal from 24 to 29 June, with a total load of 15.94m tonnes.
An average of 43.8 ships transited the canal per day during that period, with an average load of 2.66m tonnes per day. The average load per ship was about 60,608 tonnes during that period.
Compared to July 2015, before the inauguration of the New Suez Canal, the average daily number of transiting vessels totaled 47 vessels, with an average load of 2.758m tonnes daily.
Five major Danish container ships (Maersk Mc-Kinney Moller, Margrethe Maersk, Mayview Maersk, Morten Maersk, and Mathilde Maersk) transited the canal carrying 200,360 tonnes each.
The number of vessels that passed through the new canal coming from the west through the northern entrance amounted to 125 vessels, with a daily average of 20.83 vessels, and a total load of 6.9m tonnes, recording a daily average of 1.15m tonnes.
Meanwhile, 138 ships transited the canal coming from the south, with a daily average of 23 vessels, and a total load of 9.01m tonnes, recording a daily average of 1.5m tonnes.
Cargo load and calculated transit fees are the main measures of shipping traffic in the Suez Canal.
