CAIRO: The investigation into the attack on opposition figure Ayman Nour continued Wednesday with the launch of a forensic medical examination of injuries he sustained following an attack last week. Shady El-Adl, one of Nour's assistants, said that the former Ghad party leader s injuries were examined on Tuesday by the head of the Cairo public prosecution office investigating the incident. A sample of the damage to Nour s car was also taken. Nour sustained first-degree burns to the face and head on Friday evening when two men on a motorbike pulled up alongside the car where Nour was sitting and set fire to an aerosol canister, before fleeing. Nour - who recently announced that he would stand in the 2011 presidential elections - was unable to identify his assailants. In an interview with the Christian Science Monitor, Nour tied the attack with his announcement, saying, "it was definitely politically motivated.
