CAIRO: Egyptian who are universally renowned for their sense of humor are poking fun at the security hype around the presidential election results, the state of high alert and the violence rumors about clashes that will follow the announcement.Egyptian activists online created a “civil war” hashtag in Arabic to mock the anticipated violence.
The ruling military council and state-owned media are promoting the notion that the Muslim Brotherhood, whose candidate is expected to win, are going to resort to violence if he doesn't come out on top.
Mohamed al-Nagar wrote “Due to the high heat we will use water cannons in the #civil_war” while @raedpioneer wrote “The #Civil_War will be everyday till the afternoon on every Friday, so the production wheel dose not stop.” @2insana wrote, “I want to finish cooking and bathe the baby before the #Civil_War breaks out” and @IonFox1 wrote “for God sakes, can we start the #Civil_War after the summer?”
