CAIRO: The liberal, Free Egyptians Party, issued a statement on Monday, declaring its full support to the Egyptian workers in Saudi Arabia, and its rejection of any abuses, or violations of human rights laws and the laws of the International Labor Organization, and the rules governing the relationship between exporting and the host countries of the expatriate workers. Amr Suleiman, the Vice President of the Party for International Relations, said in a press release on Monday morning, “the party reaffirms its rejection of prejudice to the dignity of any Egyptian outside his country, and called for the need to reveal immediately and transparently to the public the circumstances of the detention of lawyer and activist Ahmed EL Gizawi, in Saudi Arabia, and to ensure full rights to legal counsel and representatives from the Egyptian authorities.” Suleiman warned of the serious consequences and implications of the escalation of the diplomatic repercussions between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, and said that angry reactions, and rash behaviors bear negative impacts on the historical relations between the two brotherly people. He also called on, all the parties concerned, and media need to show restraint and not to attack the embassies, the resort to objective dialogue and to create an atmosphere, to reach a solution to defuse the crisis, and to preserve the friendly relations between the brothers on the basis of respect and mutual trust between the two countries.
