The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) will be holding their 15th annual meeting on December 11 to 13 at the Palmeraie Gold Palace in Marrakech. The focus topic of the conference is investment opportunities offered by the African continent. The attendance is expected to reach 400 participants from over 100 countries, with a substantial amount of participants originating from China, the United States and the Middle East. This is the first time the annual ASEA meeting is being held in Morocco by the Casablanca Stock Exchange (CSE). Given the nature of the agenda, CSE is expected to play a crucial role in the meetings. Numerous discussions are scheduled to take place with the goal of finding solutions to maintaining a strong stock market in Africa. The recent and ongoing economic crisis plaguing the United States and Europe have had a direct impact on the actions of the leading international financial centers, causing strains on liquidity and lowering the volume of transactions. Several notable companies and individuals will be present, including Thomson Reuters, CFG Group, Auerbach & Grayson Company, Nasdaq OMX and Millenium IT to name a few. The three-day event will see financial experts and heads of major international institutions participate in workshops and seminars to debate and suggest solutions for the issues that characterize the African stock markets.
