China-based Transsion Holdings, formerly known as Tecno Telecom Limited, will sign an agreement in early September to establish its first factory in Egypt, said Egyptian communications minister on Sunday.
Transsion Holdings is one of the world's fastest-growing major mobile phone manufacturers and a leading supplier of communication devices with presence in more than 40 countries across the globe.

Transsion has developed a five-year plan for investments in Egypt, starting from 2016 until 2020, which will be carried out in cooperation with Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the IT arm of the Egyptian communications ministry, El-Kady announced during a press conference in Cairo.
El-Kady said the five-year plan includes establishing production lines for smartphones, modern lightning, and home appliances, amid plans to position Egypt as regional export hub for Transsion products.
With support of its partners – Qualcomm, MediaTek, Facebook, Opera, MTN, Airtel, Etisalat, Safaricom, Gameloft, Ogilvy and BBDO, Transsion brands have enlarged their market share, increased sales volume and enhanced market position and is one of the top communication companies in Africa.
