Swedish's Electrolux launches Cookers Factory in Egypt

The Swedish Electrolux company launches factory in Egypt's 10th of Ramadan City for manufacturing cookers with the capacity of 600.000 cookers annually as a first phase.
The new factory was inaugurated by Monir Fakhry Abd El Nour - Egyptian Industry Minister- and Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Wali.
Inaugurating the factory affirms Egypt's important place on the international economy map, Abdel Nour said, adding that the new factory reflects the success of governmental plans to attract foreign firms to the Egyptian market on both regional and international levels.
He noted that the new factory encompasses two new lines to manufacture and produce new cookers.
On the other side, Ahmed El Bakry- Chairman of Electrolux Egypt- said that the firm, which has about 10 production facilities on the outskirts of Cairo, has boosted its total investments in the Egyptian market to EGP3.5 billion (US$459 million) by expanding in the field of manufacturing home appliances.
He clarified that Electrolux Egypt's strategy for 2015 targets enhancing its place in the field of producing home appliances in Egypt and increasing its share in this vital field.
The chairman pointed out that the new factory is one of the axes of firm's expansion strategy for 2015, asserting that the company eyes pumping more investments within the upcoming period to make Egypt a regional center for manufacturing home appliances.
Egypt sells more than 50 million sets in more than 150 markets all over the world, El Bakry added.
